When to replace it

• During a wet belt (oil pump belt or timing belt) replacement where belt debris has built up in the sump.
• Oil leaks from a cracked, dented or damaged pan.
• Stripped or damaged drain plug thread.

Fitting tip

Clean both sealing faces thoroughly, use the correct Ford-spec sealant or gasket, tighten the pan bolts in sequence to the correct torque, and refill with the correct Ford-spec oil.
