IT IS IMPORTANT TO INSTALL THE OIL SEAL INTO THE TIMING COVER PRIOR TO FITTING THE COVER. APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF SEALANT TO THE REAR OF THE SEAL OR COVER & INSTALL THE SEAL INTO THE COVER. NOW APPLY SEALANT TO EITHER THE COVER OR THE ENGINE MATING SURFACES. APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF LUBRICANT TO THE CRANKSHAFT TO HELP SEAL SLIDE OVER CRANKSHAFT. THE SEAL HAS A PLASTIC INSTALLER TO HELP CENRALIZE THE SEAL ONTO THE CRANK. CAFEFULLY ALIGN & PUSH SEAL/COVER INTO PLACE, ( THE GUIDE WILL DROP OUT ) NOW HOLDING IT IN PLACE GET SOME BOLTS IN TO SECURE THE COVER, SO IT DOES NOT MOVE. IF A SEAL LEAKS, IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY THE SEAL IS NOT CORRECTLY FITTED, THAN A FAULTY SEAL, ALSO YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE COVER TO REPLACE THE SEAL, SO TAKE THE TIME TO GET IT RIGHT FIRST TIME.
